Candlelight Service for Grieving Parents
For those who have lost a child… of any age
For those who have lost a child… of any age
For families who have lost a child, this is not the easiest time of year. We light the candle so that their light may always shine.
Sunday, December 14 at 7:00 pm…
Rolling Hills Church will host the eighteenth annual Candle Lighting Service for Grieving Parents. This event unites family and friends around the world as we light candles to honor and remember children who have died at any age from any cause. This service is offered by Parents Left Behind and the Grieving Parents Support Group (GPS).
We will remember loved ones at this ecumenical service that will include special music, prayers and readings, including candle lighting and remembrance. As these services take place on this same evening around the world, hundreds of thousands of people commemorate and honor children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries in a virtual wave of light. Imam Asselki, from the Fayetteville Islamic Center, will be our keynote speaker.
The Candlelight service is an opportunity to approach the holiday season with the love and support of other families who have also lost a child—of any age.
